UPDATED , Oct.
10th, 2000 : The windows were cut from acetate
sheet and made opaque at the rear regions where the cupboards were.
Black trim on all the glasses was applied
with masking and brushing on the outside.
Next, the afore-made internal parts were
put in. The following couple of pics show the inside from various points.
Now, the rear door and the side
doors were put in place. The door handles are the kit's original handles.
I had two more from my previous beetle remainders, so they fit in number
for the doors.
Another view with the door slid open.
The wiper arms are both the right-hand
side of the kit. This part is longer than the left one, and it fit quite
well to sweep the heightened windshield. The second one also came from
my past beetle kits. They were shaped separately to suit the appropriate
curves on the windshield.
Now comes the 3/4 front, front and rear
views. Now the only items remaining are the wheels. The beetle's wheels
look too small on the kit, so some larger wheels will be mounted on the
vehicle.
UPDATED OCT.22nd,2000: I found suitable
wheels at last. They came from a Chinese made die-cast Mustang toy. They
fit just well both on the wheel and within the wheelarch. So here are a
couple of finished pics.
